In those mornings of warm blue light, we kissed. Holding your body against me underneath the covers of our bed, I remember thinking you looked like nothing I had ever seen before. Your eyes were like twin skies and I could see myself reflected back.
In the early days, we were so coy. Hints of flesh and promises made with the twitch of a hip, or the subtle movement of a shoulder. You, the child of a saint, and myself, the child of a sinner, we each roamed the others’ imagination.
Years and silver hair have made their way through our lives, but still threaded and intertwined we are. Still coy, still making promises with flashes of skin, and wild love in our eyes.
Come on baby, let’s set this winter on fire.
